My Sweets
Story

"How did you do that?" That's the question people ask most when they see my work. Followed by, "Is it edible?"

"Absolutely," I say. "It's Absolutely Edible."

I'm Nikita Jackson, better known as Nikki J, owner of Absolutely Edible Cakes & Catering, "Home of the Sweet Potato Thang". I believe God gave me a real gift here, building cakes that look like art and taste like dessert dreams. If you can imagine it, I can bake it. Cake Designer, not just a baker. We also cater anything from a breakfast for 8 to a full buffet for 3,000 or more.

I started in 1982 as a junior at Fairley High School in Memphis, when a home economics teacher and one cake magazine changed my life. Self-taught from there, I've landed cakes on Good Morning Texas, Walker, Texas Ranger, billboards for the Texas Lottery Commission, and a spot competing on Food Network's Last Cake Standing.

Every cake starts with me listening to your story, then putting it on a cake stand. And yes, everything on that cake is edible.

I've designed cakes for names like Erykah Badu, Rickey Smiley, Vivica A. Fox, and several Dallas Cowboys, and my life-size bride cake landed on CNN, Inside Edition, and more. Then there's the Sweet Potato Thang, my twist on sweet potato pie, now shipped nationwide every Thanksgiving.

I bottled that same flavor magic into my seasoning line, Magic Dust.

Famous clients are nice, but my real goal is making every person I encounter feel famous. That's actually why I launched Talk Sweets to Me. I want you to have the opportunity to
